Last night our team had the pleasure of attending Aragon Research’s holiday party and 2015 Hot Vendors award ceremony hosted at the beautiful Sofitel hotel in Redwood city.

aragon hot vendorEarlier this year FinancialForce HCM was selected as a Hot Vendor in the Human Resources category and we happily accepted the plaque last night from Aragon’s David Mario Smith and Jim Lundy.

This was Aragon’s first Hot Vendor awards ceremony but the annual vendor list has been around for years, honoring companies across multiple markets that “are doing something truly “new or different.” It was great being in such great company – vendors that attended included Asana, Vidyard, IBM, Built.Io, Atlassian and many more.

FinancialForce.com couldn’t be more thrilled to be recognized. It is a great motivation for us to continue to innovate in the HR space by building Human Capital Management on the Salesforce platform. We look forward to continuing to be different and staying “hot.”

Thanks to Aragon for a great evening!

Can you believe the first month of 2016 is already behind us? The days may have flown by, but if January was any indication of the year ahead, we’re on board!

Last month was action-packed. We celebrated a huge AppExchange anniversary, spread the word about cloud adoption research, secured company features, interviews and much more.

Take a look below at January’s PR Picks:

  1. Our director of platform, Kevin Roberts, penned a piece for Cloud Computing Intelligence, sharing thoughts on what to expect in 2016 and how “emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things will force businesses to become more flexible and agile” in the year ahead.
  2. Kevin was also featured in a TechTarget story around the rising adoption of mobile financial applications.
  3. We worked with analysts Esteban Kolsky of thinkJar and Denis Pombriant of Beagle Research Group to get the word out around research they conducted through a cloud strategy survey aiming to get at the heart of enterprise cloud application adoption and identify some challenges companies face with their deployments. CIO Insight, eWeek, CMSWire and others reported on the survey results.
  4. In January, Salesforce’s AppExchange celebrated a huge milestone – their 10th anniversary! To honor the AppExchange and to highlight its importance on the success of our own company, we shared several blog posts including a video message from FinancialForce CEO, Jeremy Roche. Jeremy was also quoted in TechCrunch around the impact of the AppExchange and last but not least, we had a special birthday message flown in the skies for all of San Francisco to see. Salesforce blogged about it here.
  5. IDG Connect profiled FinancialForce in a story about companies who have found a home and success in Yorkshire, UK.

Stay tuned in February for even more excitement and be sure to check out the press center for all of our best hits.

February has been full of accolades for FinancialForce PSA. First, the application was named one of the top 10 most popular Salesforce partner apps in CRN Magazine and then  we were named a ‘High Performer’ and topped satisfaction ratings in G2 Crowd’s Winter 2016 PSA rankings, which are based on user reviews.

g2crowd grid

The Grid is based on more than 150 reviews written by business professionals for over 30 listed products in the PSA category. It also leverages customer satisfaction data reported by authenticated users along with vendor market presence determined from social and public data.

#1 in customer satisfaction against the competition

We are thrilled that we came out as #1 in customer satisfaction against the competition. We’re dedicated to making the overall PSA experience a positive one for current and future customers and feedback through G2 Crowd and other channels helps us achieve that.

Last month we shared survey results from analysts Esteban Kolsky of thinkJar and Denis Pombriant of Beagle Research Group around current cloud adoption strategies (or lack thereof) in the enterprise. It was an eye-opening report that confirmed a majority of businesses are still slow to cloud adoption, especially when it comes to a one-platform approach.

We had the chance to sit down with Esteban and Denis to dive deeper into a few topics with video Q&As. We’ll be sharing those videos one-by-on the blog in the coming weeks so be sure to check analystanalycloud clouback in!

Today’s conversation focuses specifically on services organizations and how a single platform cloud strategy can help deliver benefits to their customers. What do you think the research found? Here’s a hint: it’s all about access to real-time data.

Be sure to download the report here for an in-depth look at the data, and in case you missed the full-length video of Denis and Esteban dissecting the research, you can check that out here.

Living in the cloud without a doubt makes life easier, but new research from analysts Esteban Kolsky of thinkJar and Denis Pombriant of Beagle Research Group shows that we’re still in the early stages of adoption, especially when it comes to strategically implementing solutions on one platform.

In fact, 85 percent of organizations are using two or more separate cloud applications at a time to run their business and research shows that unchecked by IT, many business units buy cloud solutions without much thought to how multiple systems will share data.

We dove a bit deeper into the data with a series of video discussions between Esteban and Denis. To give you another visual look, below is an infographic that looks at some of the data points. Where does your company fall?

Gotta Catch em all!

Gotta Catch em all!

…we mean ERP apps of course. In case you’ve been living under a Pokeball, er, rock for the past week you may have noticed your coworkers, family, friends and strangers on the street a bit preoccupied with the new Pokémon GO game. We can’t say we’re innocent here at FinancialForce.

The game is simple – go out in the real world and catch as many Pokémon as you can on your phone to level up. We found a few interesting reminders, if not metaphors, in the game’s draw for what happens when you start building your collection of business apps – using our suite of FinancialForce ERP apps (PSA, Financial Management and HCM) – to level up. Let us explain:

1.  More Pokémon = More Power:  A key goal of Pokémon Go is to catch as many Pokémon as you can in order to create a diverse roster to help you in battles as you progress in the game. That’s how it works for your back-office apps too. In order to tackle a challenging business landscape and difficult customer requests, your company needs to ensure you have the right solutions in place so you can continue to evolve. Having your professional services, financial management and human capital management applications on one platform gives you a clear picture of your customers and provides better visibility into the health of your overall business.

2. You’ll start to see the world differently: What makes Pokémon GO so different than most mobile games these days is its ability to pull players out of their phones and into the real world. In order to catch Pokémon, players are inspired to walk outside and explore their cities to uncover new creatures. Further, certain Pokémon appear only near their native environment (for example, water-based Pokemon appear near lakes and oceans). The game is forcing people out of their comfort zone and hopefully to see the world around them in a new light. The same thing actually happens when you catch a PSA, HCM and FM app. Often, companies are using disparate solutions where the data doesn’t speak to each other. Combine this with an entirely different CRM solution and businesses are poised for a future of unhappy customers. When these apps are combined, on one platform, you can look at your business in a new light and uncover strategies and efficiencies you never thought of before.

3. New world of ‘On the Go’: Pokémon GO has also presented a new use case of how mobile phones can be used to interact with the world around you, and is possibly the first widely adopted use case of augmented reality. Who thought our phones could create a new world of imagination and exploration for so many, so quickly? Mobility is increasingly important in today’s workforce as well. FinancialForce ERP dashboards and customer information are always available at your fingertips. You can now respond to a customer issue via Chatter and approve an invoice, while also out trying to catch Pokémon (on your lunch break of course). We can’t wait to see what comes next.

So go on, get out there and catch our PSA, Financial Management and HCM apps and if you find yourself with all three, you will level up your game and join the ranks like some of our own successful FinancialForce ERP customers like:

Customer Update: KinCare Selects FinancialForce Financial Management

Today we are thrilled to announce that KinCare, one of Australia’s leading in-home care providers specializing in aged and disability services, has selected FinancialForce Financial Management to run their company financials.

Highly competitive market for in-home care service providers

KinCare, a $100 million company with over 10,000 customers, selected FinancialForce as part of a strategic company decision to move all key business applications onto the Salesforce Platform. In 2017 Australia’s in-home care industry will be affected by the rollout of the new “Customer Directed Care” (CDC) healthcare model which removes the cap on the number of customers a provider, like KinCare, can serve, resulting in a new highly competitive market for service providers.

A new system for efficient scaling

Because of this pending change, KinCare realized they needed a system that could help them become more efficient and scale with them over the years. The company made a visionary decision back in 2012 to pick a single platform to run their company on in order to have a single, automated view of the business.

Jerome Barrientos, CIO of KinCare commented on the selection of FinancialForce:

“With FinancialForce, we are closing the loop on our single platform investment and are fully prepared to handle the exciting changes to come in 2017 with the introduction of CDC. Once implemented, having our financials on the same platform as everything else will give us a full, clear picture of our customer, employees and overall business health. We no longer have to focus on the systems, only on delivering the best customer experience”

Prior to FinancialForce and Salesforce, KinCare used an internally developed ERP solution that was built for a much smaller market and customer size at the time to handle all financials, employee and customer data.

We are excited to welcome KinCare into the FinancialForce family and can’t wait to hear how FinancialForce Financial Management supports their growth and helps them continue to provide world-class service to their clients.

For a closer look at KinCare’s investment in FinancialForce, please see today’s press release.

FinancialForce July PR Picks

July was HOT, HOT, HOT. Well maybe not the temperature here in San Francisco but we sure had a global PR heat wave and it doesn’t look like we’ll be cooling off anytime soon.

We kicked the month off with a customer story from Australia, won a  prominent award in the UK, secured some commentary on the new revenue recognition rules that are poised to strongly affect the regulatory landscape in the coming months, and just last week we made quite a splash with our take on the wider impact of  Oracle’s acquisition of NetSuite.

Take a look below at some of July’s greatest PR hits and be sure to head over to the Press Center for a full overview.

  1. Earlier in the month we announced that KinCare, one of Australia’s leading in-home care providers specializing in aged and disability services, selected FinancialForce Financial Management to run their company financials. KinCare selected FinancialForce as part of their strategic company decision to move all key business applications onto the Salesforce Platform. This great customer win was covered by CIO Australia, Enterprise Times, HomeCareDaily and others.
  2. Also this month we were recipients of a 2016 DOFscar, also known as a Director of Finance award, for Financial Software Provider of the Year. The awards are in their second year and are hosted by Ten Alps Media, the people behind Director of Finance, a magazine and website aimed to advise finance professionals on the most up to date issues faced by major corporations and leading finance directors.
  3. Our General Manager of Financial Management applications, Raphael Bres, spoke with AccountingWeb.co.uk to share FinancialForce’s perspective on the pending changes associated with new revenue recognition landscape.
  4. Late in July, Oracle officially announced they were acquiring NetSuite and we jumped in to provide our comments on the industry news. First we posted a statement on our blog highlighting that “One of the biggest issues plaguing organizations is the FrankenCloud, and today we’ve learned that Oracle’s will grow into an even bigger monster as it gains more bolt on appendages including another cloud technology stack and another set of ERP and CRM apps.” Our comments were picked up in multiple outlets including Computerworld, eWEEK, Enterprise Times and others. Be sure to check out the blog for our full statement.

Now THAT’S hot.

We try not to brag, but here at FinancialForce, you could call us the Michael Phelps of financial software. Lately, we’ve been racking up gold medals for our financial management solution faster than Usain Bolt.

Just this week, FinancialForce was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Product or Service of the Year – Software – Financial Management Solution category in The 13th Annual International Business Awards! We couldn’t be more pleased to be recognized for the hard work our Financial Management team has put into the product and the customers who continue to help us innovate and deliver.

There’s no other perfect time to receive this honor with the Olympics going on, celebrating  talent from all over the world, in a diverse range of categories. The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2016 IBAs received entries from more than 60 nations and territories. Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from May through early August.

But, wait there’s more! FinancialForce Financial Management didn’t just win one Gold medal this summer! We were honored with two other awards in the past month alone:

  1. Earlier this week we won Best SaaS Product for Management Accounting or Budgeting at the SaaS Awards, for excellence and innovation in SaaS. Read all about the win in our recap blog post.
  2. In July we collected a 2016 DOFscar, also known as a Director of Finance award, for Financial Software Provider of the Year. You can learn more about the DOFscars here.

What an exciting time for FinancialForce. We’re motivated by our recent wins to keep delivering the best Cloud ERP solutions to our customers and compete, not just every four years, but every single day.

Another summer month down, which means we’re that much closer to Dreamforce! We hope you’re as excited as we are for October’s activities but before then, we’ve got a lot of great coverage and awards to revel in. We’ve also got plenty of exciting news coming up before we can even lift the curtain on Dreamforce, so stay tuned!

August was filled with more awards, customer news, great career advice from our CEO and much more. Check out our favorite moments from the past month below and be sure to head over to our Press Center for a full list of highlights.

  1. Speaking from personal experience, FinancialForce CEO Jeremy Roche shared a few tips to Fortune readers on how to land a job you didn’t necessarily go to school for. Jeremy himself has held multiple positions across a variety of departments – legal, IT, sales, you name it.
  2. Kevin Roberts, our director of platform technology, also had some advice to share this past month. In CMSWire, he spoke to SMBs about strategies to best migrate your business to the cloud, including picking a platform and sticking to it, and integrating social collaboration.
  3. In awards news, FinancialForce Financial Management won its third award in two months! This time it was a Gold-level International Business Award (AKA Stevie Award) for the Product or Service of the Year – Software – Financial Management Solution category.
  4. FSN wrote a detailed profile, following July’s news that Kincare, one of Australia’s leading in-home care providers specializing in aged and disability services, has selected FinancialForce Financial Management to run their financials.
  5. In more customer news, we had the pleasure of announcing that LiquidHub selected FinancialForce ERP to optimize their workflows and unify data. LiquidHub replaced a collection of solutions, including in-house built applications, to create a single system of record for better management, more control of key business data, and significant improvements in reporting capabilities. We can’t wait to hear what great things LiquidHub achieves in the future.
